Do not get mistaken into thinking that you cannot carry on with a home based business, if you do not have a computer and internet service. There are a number of opportunities available which you can get hold of without using a computer.

The following are five examples of having a business and making money without using internet as a main tool.

Firstly, have you thought about babysitting for either the neighborhood kids or other people? Before you start on with the business, it is wise to be informed about the rules of the state that you live in regarding babysitting, and then start watching children accordingly, without having any overhead costs. Building your cliental can be hard at first, but if you do a good job word of mouth will spread your business.

Selling cosmetics is another such business which can be done by finding a huge number of clients and selling make-up products such as that of Mary Kay and Loreal. Who needs a computer for that? You can contact people many other ways without having to rely on a computer all the time.

Alteration of clothes is also a good way of earning money while staying at home. Apart from doing the usual hemming, you can also do alterations on people?s wedding dresses, uniforms and curtains, depending on how experienced you are. People are always looking to get their clothing to fit just right. It's important for those special events which happen all year.

Are you an animal lover? If yes, then pet grooming has to be the ideal business for you. If you are seriously into it, you can begin with having a separate area with tables, sinks and other items that are required for the business. However, such a business would require that you are trained in looking after animals and are aware about their anatomy.

Do you love weddings? Go for the business of being a wedding consultant/planner and you will have a great time arranging meetings with vendors, managing the budget and planning the schedule of the wedding. However, this business does involve the usage of computers; it is not entirely dependent on them.

Thus, you do not need to restrict yourself to a computer chair all day long to have a successful business. All you need to do is look for a business of your interest and get started. While most people are flocking towards the computer, now might be the time to do something a little more old fashioned.
